This is the first time to post here and also I am new at decorating cakes. I need an honest opinion about the cake I made for my hubby to take to work. He works in the avionics industry and so I made an "airplane" cake using a frozen buttercream transfer. I know it is far from perfect but any pointers would be helpful. Thanks for looking! "Enjoy" was put on the cake since there are a few people he works with who like to help themselves to others food--it was meant as a joke!
I think its fabulous! I've never attempted a FBCT. I hope mine turns out as well when I finally do.
Wow! I think that looks great! You did a wonderful job with your transfer, and I'm sure it will be a big hit .
I think you are on your way to greatness! I've been decorating for almost 2 years seriously and have never even attempted a FBCT....so already, I'm impressed!
Keep it up and can't wait to see what you do next!
Welcome to CC!!!!!
That is a great job!! I haven't tried the FBCT either, but you have inspired me!! They will love this cake! If you are new at this, you are going to be fantastic!! That shows a lot of talent!!
Pointers? You want pointers? You should be GIVING pointers!
Seriously....you have this technique DOWN!
Nice job!
It looks great! How did you get it on the cake in one piece. I tried a FBCT and it kinda cracked as I was trying to get it on the cake. How long did you freeze it for?[/i]
That is a BIG transfer! You did a wonderful job on it!! I agree - you are well on your way.
I am so excited to try this method but I am waiting on my AmeriColor order from here to come first.
You did a wonderful job, thank you for sharing the picture.

I am think you really don't need any pointers! The transfer came out fantastic! Great job on the clouds and borders Too!
I seriously think you did an outstanding job! your cake and BCT is quite admirable. you don't need any pointers!
Thank you for looking. Hubby took it to work and everyone enjoyed it. I used plastic wrap instead of wax paper since it has some give the transfer can bend a little without breaking. I also froze it for about 3 hours while I did other stuff. I am really enjoying this new hobby!!
