I totally was inspired by one of amiegirl's mother's day projects. I just thought that the colors were so beautiful! I made two of these. One for my son's teacher for teacher appreciation week, and one is being shipped to my MIL for mother's day. Thanks for looking and to everyone who helped me along the way!!
Very cute! I'm sure they will love them.
Just out of curiosity, are you planning on wrapping the cookies?
Jodie
Very nice!
I just made my first bouquets as well for teacher's gifts this week. I made all butterfly cookies. Did you have any issues making you cookies? I had some trouble with the sticks and the cookies breaking. But once I got that figured out, and how to get the effect I wanted on the cookies, they went well. This morning one of the teachers told me that the cookies were so good and when I told her that I had made them - she was so surprised that they were homemade... so I was pleased with that comment.
So what are you planning next?
They are so cute! I have never made lollipop cookies and I love yours!!! You have inspired me to give it a try!
Don't you love it when someone is surprised that you made a treat? I think the homemade treats are always better!!
Hey Steph, your cookies look great! I didn't have any issues with cookies breaking. What method did you use to insert the sticks? I used different sized cookie sticks from Wilton. I used the thickness as a guide while rolling the dough, and then inserted the sticks 1/2 way into the cookie before baking. I used Penny's cookie recipe with fondant and royal for decorating. The fondant actually helps keep the cookie together in my opinion. The cookies turned out great, nice and think, yet somewhat soft, they were yummy!
Thanks coolchc21!
I tried every which way to put the sticks in. But in the end, I realized that I was using some pretty thick sticks, because I looked at another package that I had and they were half the diameter of the ones I had been using.
Live and learn - hopefully next time will be easier!
Maybe I will make some for my MIL... hmmmm. But at least she is close by - I won't have to ship them like you did. And if I stick to the butterflies, I already know how to do them now. Should be easier huh?... hahaha
