I used many resources, and I think they turned out okay..they are still drying. I can't wait to put my final cake together for class!! Thank you to all the wonderful people who offered their great suggestions! I even used chalk to create the soft pink petals that turn into white tips. Sorry for the quick picture...the sun set and there isn't any natural light to be had!!

Thanks for looking.

LOL. It feels like it. It's for my course III final cake, so I'm going to focus more on the frog prince I have yet to do. I did some lilly pads...hopefully I won't have to make a million more water lilies.

Thank you.

Thank you, everyone! I had fun. I want to definitely experiment with different colors.

I made a small gumpaste bud on a toothpick and let it dry overnight.
Then I used different sized daisy cutters in different colors and built on it. I let the flower dry upside down for all the layers, except the last one. I flipped it over and stuck the toothpick through the foam.

I used vanilla extract for each layer, and grated non-toxic chalk for the color variation on the blooming petals.

I need to find another daisy cutter that's one size bigger, because I think it needs one more final larger layer. I'll have to investigate.

I can post pictures with step-by-step directions that are much clearer if anyone would like.

I used this link as a guide, (so sorry, I can't recall who posted it!!!) but I modified it to work for me. Great site.

This was quite a project. The lily pads are done...on to the frog! Hopefully the cake will come together.

Thanks to everyone that helped!

Hi Angela! Great job!!! They're awesome! thumbs_up.gif

I, too, would love it if you would post the directions. I have to make a frog wedding cake later this month and the bride wants frogs, lily pads and water lillies on the cake.

Would you post pics of your frog also? I'd love to see it! Thank you so much for sharing! What timing! ~~Tammy

Thank you all very much!! I will put some directions together today and post them as quick as I can. My frog is not cooperating too well. He will need some attention! LOL.

I will post soon with pictures.
