But, would this idea work? A shallow sheet cake (think texas sheet cake, or jelly roll cake, without the jelly and the roll, plain, any flavor) and your cookie cutters? See what I am getting at? Using a cookie cutter to cut out cake shapes, decorated with MMF or RBC and on stuck on sticks for a twist on the cookie/cupcake bouquet?? I had a dream last night about this and I thought..."why not". I'm gonna try it, unless any of you think I am cuckoo...LOL!!!

I don't think it would stay on a stick...

Maybe use RI as a glue?

i'm interesting in finding out how it goes. I think you could use RI to get the cake to stick to the stick, but i think when you hold it up that the weight and flexibility of the cake will cause the cake to tear apart. icon_sad.gif

If you do try it, think about what you can do to prevent drying. Will you cover all the way around? dip like petit fours?

if its a thin and sturdy cake I think maybe you could dip them in candy melts and then attach a skewer??

gonna be a tricky one tho.. GL

what about crums on the sides after you cut them? I think if there was a way to make this work it would be cute - it is just too late for my brain tonight!

LMAO - I was just thinking about some of my dreams - and how much more realistic yours was...

During a peaceful sleep, I came up with a solution for cleaning up Lake Ontario... OXY CLEAN! Big vats of it!??

Oh, also I once woke up in a grizzly mood because I swear I spent half the night trying to get my marbles to fit into the parking meter!

Dreaming of cake? What a perfect drream!

I would have to agree with previous comments though - think gravity would be your enemy. Your dream did remind my of something my Mom did YEARS ago. She made a HUGE black forest cake - each layer of cake was baked in a cookie sheet and then drizzled with liqueur before being decorated. It was to die for!

As for the cake on a stick. I was thinking it wouldn't stay also, but then I thought "Well ice cream stays". Maybe freezing it and then decorating maybe with chocolate like southrnhearts mentioned? [Thinking out loud here]

Ah Ha!! So maybe if I bake a dense cake, then frezze it slightly, then cut out shapes, refreeze, put a crumb coating (just a thin one), refreeze and then dip in chocolate or cover in fondant and then decorate, this may work, and I could aso use a larger gage stick, like 1/4 inch wooden dowels from the craft store. Hmmm.....

OXY clean...you know what kind of improvement we could do to our lakes and rivers with a wash of OXY clean!! BRILLIANT!!! icon_biggrin.gif
