Ok so when I took this order it seemed simple enough--sports themed graduation cake to feed 30. Now I am drawing a blank!
I have looked all through the sports gallery and searched graduation cakes but can't seem to bring the two together. Any ideas floating around out there?

How about the graduation cap made with a ball pan and covered with a fondant board, but design the cap to look like a soccer ball?
Or a baseball diamond with first base labeled elementary school, second base lableled middle school, third base labeled high school, and home base labeled your future...with an insciption about covering all bases and sliding home? The baseball bat can be rolled like a diploma.

Is there a particular sport that the graduate is really into?

Here is a graduation cake that I delivered this morning. Doug came up with the idea when I was drawing a blank.

Nice cake Fishercakes! I can see where those themes would stump you.

I talked to the client- Primary baseball with blue and gold colors at the school

I am now thinking a 11 x 15 base ball diamond with the school mascot (a bee) and the words Congratulations Tyler on a plaque in the diamond. Small baseballs around the sides maybe a score board with the year on it? Blue and gold border. What ya think? Any other ideas?

I went to the school web site and copied the mascot, put a bat in its hand and a graduation cap. I can't believe how close your drawing was to the real mascot Doug! Their colors are old gold and blue. I hope they like it!

Thanks again Doug! thumbs_up.gif

what if you did a white cake as base...

the took white and dark chocolate (dark tinted black) and made those chocolate pieces for the sides?

could do them as solid colors OR could swirl them together OR could make patterns in one color and then back it w/ the other color????

I like that idea.....I am going to "try" to draw it out. icon_smile.gif
