i hadn't realized how bad my cake obsession was until i Literally had a cake nightmare last night. i have a friend who, for some strange reason, will Not let me make any of her cakes. drives me nuts. well she is getting married soon and i dreamed last night that she Finally let me make her a cake. Her Wedding Cake.

So it's the day of the wedding and people are arriving and other crazy dream stuff is going on and i am sitting in a kitchen with an 8" round cake in front on me, covered in icing and a pyramid shaped cake sitting on top of that. the icing is sliding off the cake and is a huge mess. i am screaming for someone to come help me but no one would. oh, did i mention i was wearing my maid-of-honor gown???

then, to top it off, i have a cake due on saturday and will be making "blocks" for it. i made the cake last night but in my dream my mother had taken my cake and cut it into Tiny little blocks thinking she was helping me.

i need to get a life. just thought i'd share. thanks for listening as no one else would appreciate it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh my! That's scary! I don't think you need to worry though - your cakes are fabulous!

OH. MY. GOBS!

I had a wedding cake dream last night TOO! icon_confused.gif

I dreamed my friends daughter had arranged to wrap and freeze the bride's cake for me. (Maybe I was the one in the dream getting married to my DH all over again?--ummm...yeah.)

So, anyway--I was all freaked out about everything in the "wedding" going right, and suddenly everything's over & done...and she's standing there with good ole' fashioned Saran wrap.

I'm trying to tell her how to wrap, and place in the blah...blah...blah. And, instead of her just wrapping the TOP layer, she's standing there at the wedding table trying to wrap the WHOLE CAKE--just as it stands, pillars and all!

She's just like, "Ok, yeah...I got it...relax!" icon_twisted.gif

Yeah--just thought I'd share!

I wouldn't confront anyone about why they don't want you to make a cake for them. Could be they don't believe in doing business with friends (perfectly legitimate), could be your cakes aren't her cup of tea (everyone's tastes are different - my brother loves the taste of my cakes, but my sister doesn't). You can't take it personnally. You have her friendship - you don't need to be her cake maker too!!!

my friend is just weird. who would pass up a free cake? she just hadn't seen any of them and now it's become a big joke with us.

Oh my! Poor you, lol! Are you afraid to sleep at night now?!?!?! LOL!

Maybe you friend is just being mature and thinking about that "too close for comfort" thing. I mean, that's a thing with family, definitely! So, maybe she just doesn't want anything there. Oh, I just realized....what is she making you think by NOT wanting you to do her wedding cake???

BTW, your cakes are wonderful! I am curious, though, has your mother ever tried to help you in real life, lol?
