How do you all deliver cakes that are 2 levels of stacked cakes. They obviously don't fit in a regular cake box. Thanks for your help!

You mean just a 2 tier cake?

You can cut the lid off of a box, and just leave the top uncovered.

I use a large sheet pan, lined with a rubber mat so it won't slide anywhere, and put in the back of my van.

I buy larger coregated boxes at the packaging store. They work great.

Thanks. If it is left uncovered (it is a fondant covered cake) will it be okay for a couple of days?

Yep... it'll be fine.

Other than some dust. icon_wink.gif

I always use the Domino Sugar boxes from Sam's. They are sturdy good sized boxes that fit most of my 3D cakes and with the "Domino Sugar" label they are a clean and "fitting" type box to use.

(One time my well meaning husband picked me up a pig ears box--because of its nice wide size-- and I was not pleased but it was the last minute and I had to use it! Yikes! Now he always knows when I need a "Sam's Club box" its a Dominos.)

eew and lmao ... they sure do try to "help" sometimes huh?

If I have a customer picking up a cake and transporting it somewhere I do the same thing, but I happen to use the 12" cube boxes my butter comes in. For smaller larger cakes (make sense icon_smile.gif ) I will use a regular box, tape the lid propped open, and then saran wrap the whole thing (if its gonna be awhile)

If I am delivering a cake, no box at all unless it is a single tier half sheet or smaller.

Thank you all so much. That helps a lot!! I am nervous since this is my first stacked cake for a real customer.
