I was just getting ready to bake, and was going to try adding a box of pudding mix and extra egg to the cake mix for the first time. I realized I had no idea if sugar free worked okay. I always buy sugar free pudding mix and jello and never gave it a second thought until I was just getting ready.
I left the oil out of the last cake mix I made and loved the texture. Can I do that with the added pudding and egg too?
LOL - this might just be my practie cake that I'll HAVE to eat and make sure it's okay - HA HA HA HA HA. I usually just make the cake mix according to directions and only recently started to play around with it.
go ahead
I have used SF mix before and it doesn't make a difference in the cake.
Thanks for all the replies. I know that sometimes the sugar free ingredient just doesn't "bake" right. I'll go ahead and give it a try. I probably would have it in the oven already, but dh called and said coworker would like a heart shaped cake if possible. WOO HOO I have an excuse to buy another pan LOL. I know I can get the heart shape with a square and a round, but really, it's not as much fun as buying another pan. DH didn't get it roflmao.
Cake came out of the oven a little while ago. I used a lemon cake mix and added one box of sugar free lemon pudding mix and one extra egg. I still can't bring myself to leave out the oil completely, so I only added about a tablespoon. The little extra that I baked in a smaller pan tasted great. I wrapped up the bigger one in plastic wrap after cooling for ten minutes, so I'll find out tomorrow how that worked.
Oh yeah, I went and used my 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and got the set of four hear pans. HL had all wilton pans at 33% off.
