Your cake is gorgeous!!! I have no idea on pricing, but I'm curious too as to how you did the sides of the cake.

It's beautiful!! If the 5 layers are the sizes bodaisy said I'd agree with her & charge around $500 too!! What are the flavors? If they are anything like Italian Cream or Red Velvet etc, I would probably charge more.

The sides were really easy. I took the end of my spatula and went around using an up and down motion.
The size of the cake was 16, 14, 12, 10, and 8.
The flavors were: Lemon Poppy Seed with raspberry filling, chocolate with buttercream filling, and french vanilla with bavarian cream filling, all topped with italian meringue buttercream.

Very pretty. I like how you did the sides. What a neat idea. I agree with the $500 and $600. It looks like a big cake. I've been told to figure how many the cake will feed and charge around 1.75 to 2.50 pr slice to get you price.

WOW!

You did an awesome support job on that. Did you use dowels, or another method of support?

Yeah. $500-$600--especially with that frosting and those fillings/batters.

Congrats on a beautiful cake!

Beautiful, great job!!!

Cake prices are relative to where you are located, type of ingredients (some contain expensive nuts, fillings, liquors, etc) and effort.

I would say around the $600 range if you were outside of large cities, small to med. towns to $800-$1000 for large cities.

A lot of people set their price per slice once you figure out a base price and again, charge more for special ingredients. It helps in quoting prices to new customers.

Your cake is simply stunning. In New York City, I believe it would sell easily for around $800.00. Great work!!!
