I love all my books but I'd have to say my favorite books are the wilton yearbooks. Each project gives you directions for the cakes and the items that you will need.
I have lots of books I want... just not the funds to buys them! I love the the yearbooks too. I see so many great looking ones on the advertisements on this site I drool over them every day!
The Wilton yearbooks are great but if you want some really fancy ideas, look at some of the books by an author by the name of Peters. Her cakes are gorgeous but are not the standard BD cake.
yes ........I love books by Colette Peters....she does very interesting cakes.....I been wanting to gte my hands on cake to dream on so that I could see if that one is good......but my local library doesnt have it yet.....Ive been so busy lately havent had time to go to a book store....
I was just at Borders and was drooling........I want the Cakes to Dream on, the Whimsical bakehouse that's going to be given away for the Mother's day contest and a few others that I can't remember who they are by. But I really really want the Whimsical bakehouse after looking through it. That's first on my wishlist.
Can you tell I was kidless, I got to browse through the books
The book store in the town near me never has any good ones I have to order all mine online or I watch on eBay, but only if they go cheap... sometimes amazon will have used ones that are reasonable.. I'm always referring to my books .. looking for ideas.. and then coming here too
I love looking through my wilton wedding cake books, some of the designs are just so gorgeous..one day I can get that good. practice practice practice
I love my Colette Peters books as well as Debbie Brown. I also enjoy any British or Australian cake books, I have about five of them. My absolute favorite is "The Essential Guide to Cake Decorating". There are so many cakes and different techniques in it!!! Another good one is a rather big/thick one called "The Practical Encyclopedia of Cakes and Cake Decorating".

I have the wilton but have many others on my wish list now when God sends me a Ginnie to grant those wishes.... Oh did someone say wake up?
I like Toba Garrett, Colette Peters , Scott Wolley and of course Wilton's oldies which I bought a collection at a garage sale for $50!!! Anyway, now I have the books and NO time to read them.
I love Carol Deacon's books. I have two of them. They have some cute ideas that can be easily adapted for differnt occasions.
Has anyone bought any of Ann Pickard's Idiot's Guide To cake books? The cakes on the covers look great.
I love the Collete Peters books, Debbie Brown, Whimsical bakehouse and Australian Womens weekly guides. I love reading the Le Cordon Bleu / Culinary arts Pastry text books at Barnes and Noble. I also love the book by Colin Cowle called " weddings", it has the most magnificent cakes I have ever seen.
I love the martha stewart wedding editions with the latest cake designs.. I wish she would release a cake decorating guide
