I am sure this is a rookie question but how do I attach ribbon to a fondant covered cake board. You know when you see the ribbon around the edge of the board? I tried piping gel but it bled through the ribbon and when it "dried" it still showed through the ribbon as big blotches.
Thanks for any help!

I use just a dab of royal only at the back. You can also use hot glue since no one will be eating it.

For my wedding cake in my pics I used velco. I bought the sticky back disc that are about a 1/2 in diameter and stuck one to the fondant and one to the ribbon. I ironed the end of the ribbon with a crease first so that no seems would show. then I stuck one side of the velco to the end of the ribbon and fasten the other end to the fondant (half the velco was on the fondant and half on the ribbon.

Worked great for around the cake too!

I always use a hot glue gun to attach ribbon to my cake boards.
