Well I posted this last night but I think it got deleted or something... so I'll just rewrite it. I just wanted to post this because it made me laugh (after I got really mad).

See, my friend has a performance tonight as star of a play in our community, so I wanted to make her a bouquet of roses to show appreciation. I baked the cookies on wed. and iced the base on thursday, so when friday came along to outline, they'd be completely dry, as my icing takes 24 hours to dry. Thursday night I hear a crash coming from just outside my room, and so I run out to see what happened, but all I found was the cat spooked with the "Uh, oh, I didnt do it!" (we all know that look.) But nothing upstairs was disturbed so I went back to sleep.

Yesterday morning I come downstairs to the kitchen to find ALL of my cookies toppled onto the floor, upside down, broken, stuck to the floor, the cooling rack on top, and at least 9 of them had cat hair on them. The way they were positioned on the table makes me think there was NO WAY the cat could push the whole thing down!!!

Does anyone have pets like this?!?!? AM I ALONE??? icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Sorry the pictures are so big, they wont resize for me!!! (I feel like an idiot.)

Jasmine.

You are not alone - I have animals like that too. Jerks! If they weren't so loving, I would have sold them to the gypsies by now! LOL

Your cookies are AWESOME! You are very talented, I'm sure your friend loved them - who wouldn't? I'm lucky if I can get my icing on cookies to look decent, let alone nice - absolutely beautfiul!

I don't have a 4 legged pet like that but I do have a 3 year old. Lot's of OH NOOOOOOOOOOOs. Your cookies are absolutely beautiful though. By the way, was the performance in the Kissimmee area by any chance?

Your cookies are absolutely beautiful!

I can SO identify with the pet thing...One Christmas I had to make parts for my gingerbread house three times. My dog kept stealing them. He got smarter, though. The last time, he waited until I had it all assembled (but luckily not decorated) before he sneaked off with it. And I could have sworn (each time, mind you) that it was out of his greedy little reach. Of course, he was nearly my height when he stood up on his back legs. He was always such a food thief! He once took a bite out of a pound of butter (wrapper and all) between when I brought the first and second boxes of stuff from Costco into the house! icon_rolleyes.gif

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate it! Your comments are always so nice =)

Kelli60,
I used my own recipe, it has eggwhites, 10x, vanilla, cream of tartar and water in it. It tastes great but it takes so long to dry!

Keonicakes,
nope, not in Kissimmee, or I would've pm'd you to let you know!! It was actually in GA, some side town right over the boarder. (I got lost, on top of everything else. only me.)

Keris,
I agree, I'd have sold my two to the gypsies too!! The cat and dog, such a pair!! I swear they take turns annoying me...

Chocolate--
That's really funny! I found my dog with a butter wrapper this morning licking it clean. Tsk... such butter fiends.

Anyways, she loved them so much, better than the REAL roses her boyfriend got her! HA!

Oh and as a side note my cat has forgotten the whole thing, pretending as if no cookies even existed. "Me? Cookies? I dont know what you're talking about..."

did you do the lines for the borders and fill it up like with color flow or you covered it with icing and then did the lines, i think it sound like a stupid question but .....i really don t know

It's not a stupid question!! I covered it and then did the lines. It's much easier to me since I only did a solid base color.

The cookies turned out beautifully. I have a chocolate lab who stays outside. When he was a puppy he got into everything and chewed. He went over to the neighbors and dragged back a 100 foot extension cord through the fence, chewed through our phone line and through the satellite cable, my husbands slippers . . . the list goes on and on. I wouldn't get rid of him for the world. Pets are, after all, just furry little children.
