I've seen some cutters that are about an inch and some that are almost four inches square. They are all labeled petit four cutters.

The Tulsa state fair is having a petit fours category this year, but I didn't see any size specifications. What size do you think I should do? What do you think they are expecting? When you think of petit fours, what size do you think of?

Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated. I've never made these before, but I thought it would be fun to try. Thanks for helping me!

4" square wouldn't be a petit four, in my opinion. They should be bite size. I don't use a cutter if I'm doing squares, only if doing round one.

There are some bakeries that include small tarts and pasteries in the petit four category. However, the show is most likely looking for 2" or smaller. You should be looking for miniature perfections.

Thank you so much to both of you. I guess I'll do some that are between 1" and 2". I just wasn't sure and didn't want to knock myself out of the running before I even started. icon_smile.gif

You may want to email and ask, so you have an 'official' answer.

Here is the address I found on the OSSAS site to send questions to: [email protected]

Thanks! You're right, I should probably do that.
