I HATE making Mcqueen. I just made my fourth one and it was a disaster! I swore after the third one I was never going to make him again but a friend of mine wanted it for her sons birthday so I agreed to do it. This time it is for real, I will NEVER do another one again.

this last one was my worst. I had problems with crumbs in the icing. It seemed like the cake was to soft, or maybe my icing was to stiff. Anyhow, I was cursing at the cake the whole time I was making it!

Thanks for letting me vent!!

My son is turning four this month, and last month he asked me to do a lightning mcqueen cake... now he's asking for squidward. After reading your post, I think I'm happy he changed his mind icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Well it looks fantastic. I think my customer wanted one, but I begged my way into something different by pleading copyright issues icon_smile.gif I'm too scared to do Lightning.

My son is turning 4 in August and, probably like every 4 year old boy, has requested Lightning McQueen!
Your cakes look awsome, I wish I could make that.
I chickened out and bought the Wilton pan for his party. I guess I have a good excuse since my due date is the 1st week of July.

I just made one 2 weeks ago and was about to cry!! It was for my nephew and was free (and they would have been happy with a sheetcake) My DH joked and said he had a crash in turn 3!! The backside collapsed and the whole thing looked weird! I hated making it! (if I ever try it again I definitely need a stiffer cake, though - and longer cake board!)

I made one for my son. Although I was totally obsessed with it, thinking about it, dreaming about it, worrying about it....he turned out pretty good. Here are my directions that I posted awhile back in case anyone needs some help with it.

I did one few weeks ago and the back end of the car fell off on the way home, luckily a few cookie sticks and it was back up. I hope I don't have to do another one for a long time.
