Can someone tell me what to charge for a dozen cupcakes? Never made them to sell before and am clueless!!! I have only decorated smaller cakes out of my home and now I have a wedding cake for 400 inquiry! I'm scared to death! Anyway the couple is "cake tasting" tomorrow and have ordered 3 doz. cupcakes. Please tell me what to charge!

I charge $1.25 for each cupcake but that's because i make JUMBO cupcakes. It's more if you have a clay character on top...much, much more.

So if I'm making small ones and I just do a rose/rosebud on top... Is $0.50 too much?

It depends on your town and your competition (non-grocery store). Me I charge $1.00/ cupcake (small) then $0.50/rose.

For the standard size cupcakes I'd say $1 per cupcake with just a swirl on top. Now if you do filling or some piped decoration, then I'd charge more depending on what you do.

Personally I'd have a min of 24 cupcakes, since a cake mix makes 24 of them, other wise you really aren't making much money off them.
