Mmf: Can We Use Betty Crocker Icing Instead Of Buttercream?
Decorating By cakaddict Updated 6 May 2007 , 5:10pm by cakaddict
I used store bought frosting (I can't remember which brand) for the baby cakes in my photo section. It worked just fine for the cupcakes and the 6-inch round.
I know that I have used canned icing, and added powered sugar to it to make it a little thicker, for star tipping, so I can imagine that you shoudl be able to do the same thing for fondant. I am going to try tomorrow ![]()
This one is positively ethereal -- from the Magnolia Bakery --
2 egg whites
1/2 c maple syrup
3/4 c sugar
1/4 tsp each cream of tarter and salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp maple extract
Combine 1st 5 ingredients in double boiler and whip on medium high for 5-7 minutes till nice peaks form. Remove from heat and add vanilla and maple and beat 1 minute more.
