Need Help For Wedding Cake Tomorrow.

I have to out a ribbon around a buttercream cake, do you think I should put wax or parchment paper behind it on the cake so the grease from the buttercream won't come through?
Thanks, Ivy
Letseatcake - I have used ribbon for several years and have never had a problem. I wait till the frosting is just starting to crust over - and it always looks great.
I just did one last week...the ribbon had a shine to it. Let the frosting crust and wrapped it around when I got to destination. Do not use the wired ribbon as it will not lay flat or the sheer ribbon which will show the grease.
