It is soooooooo confussing I have learned NOT to use those terms![]()
A 1/4 sheet could be any thing from an 8x11 to 9x13!
A 1/2 sheet can be 11x15 to 12x18.
Originally bakers used huge shee pans for baking *everything*. When they made a cake they would cut in it half; then in half again thus the terms of quarter, half or full sheet were born.

Kakeladi is absolutely right. I use to work in a bakery and that's exactly how we did it.

My 1/4 sheet is 9x13, my 1/2 sheet is 12x18, and my full sheet is two 12x18's side by side. I agree that it is very confusing ... it seems like everyone uses different sizes! ![]()
