I have never done sheet cakes before and was wondering if anyone can tell me the sizes, how many they serve and how you price them...I am just a little confused.

thanks!!

I use my 12x15 twice over for a sheet cake. As for pricing I have no idea!

When someone asks for a "sheet cake" I always ask how many servings they're after. The biggest cake I do is the half-sheet, which is my 12x18. (Bakeries around here use a 12x16 for their half-sheets). It takes about 15 cups of batter, and will serve aproximately 50 people. The quarter-sheet is a 9x13, takes 7.5 cups of batter, and serves about 20-25. The 11x15 takes 11 cups of batter, and serves about 35. I price mine to be competitive with the bakeries, and the bakeries run a bit higher than the grocery stores.
