I was wondering if a chart exists that tells amounts of icing needed for various cake sizes. I hate going through the guessing game everytime I make a cake. I'm icing a 9" round (double layer) and and 11x15 (single layer) both with borders. If there isn't a chart does anyone know how much I need for these two cakes? Thanks in advance
I knew this info was also on the Wilton's web site:
http://www.wilton.com/wedding/cakeinfo/cakedata.cfm
It gives you an approximate amount of everything you need to make all kinds of size of cakes.
Pan Shape, Pan Size, Servings 2 layer, Cups Batter for 1 layer, Baking Temps., Baking Time Minutes Approx., Cups Icing to Frost & Decorate 2 Layer Cake
I know I saw another chart for Fondant somewhere. I will try and remember where.
Good Luck.
