I can't sleep! I found out today that we are getting a puppy tomorrow and I have a serious case of ants in the pants!!!
We've been on the list for a local Boston Terrier rescue for a few months now, but haven't had any luck finding a dog that fits our household. (We have a dominant female cattledog already.) We had gone down and made a list of breeds that we loved . . . English Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Pugs, French Bulldogs and Brussels Griffons. Bostons made the most sense since we couldn't see spending $3000 on a bulldog puppy and the rescues keep trying to adopt a deathly sick dog to us. (I work for a vet so they figure I should take the really broken ones. . . ugh.)
Two days ago I noticed that the Boston rescue had a bulldog puppy on their website. I emailed her right away . . . and forgot to tell her I had just changed my phone number. I realized my mistake today and emailed her again . .. and she called within an hour. She wants us to come pick up the puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shes 11 weeks old . . . the person who originally bought her was only 19 and didn't realize the responsibility that comes with a puppy. Her loss is totally our gain!!!!!! The adotpion fee was only $750 and I get to pick her up at noon Friday. I can't stop doing cartwheels!!!!!
Here's her picture . . . they call her Penny right now but I don't know if we are going to keep that until we spend more time with her.

Congratulations! She's adorable! Be sure to post more pictures of the little cutie.
I love, love, love bulldogs. We had one when I was in my early 20's...her name was Boo Boo. She was a wonderful dog. I am soooo jealous.
I think Penny is a good name for a puppy, and I think so looks like a Penny. She is such a cutie!!!
We hava 2 black labs, both of them are girl. Nalyd is 10 and Dottie is 4 months old.
I would love to get another bulldog, but to get my husband to dish out $3,000 for a dog
Well I would have a better chance getting my teenagers to clean out their rooms.
Keep us posted on Penny!!
She is GEORGOUS!! I just love that look she has. She looks so sweet. I love her paws. I am excited for you.. ![]()
She is SOO cute! You will absolutely love her. We have an English Bulldog too and we just love our Elvis. He really is the best dog ever - great temperment. He lets our son who is 17 mo. old poke him, pull his jowels, "pat" (hit softly) him, put his whole hand in his mouth, crawl on him and he doensn't bat an eye.
Congrats! Keep us posted after you get to pick her up tomorrow! Welcome home Penny!
Awwwwww ... she is absolutely adorable! Enjoy your new baby!!! ![]()
Ok, we got her home and are in heaven . . .
Here's some quick pics, no time really to upload more.

Awe shes so sweet
I am glad that she is home. Give her some extra lovins. She looks very comfortable.
Oh ... I love the new pics! I really think that puppies are one of the best things in life!!! Enjoy your new baby girl!! ![]()
So adorable!!! I just love dogs. They trully decrease the amt. of stress in your life. Before I got my puppy, my DH was totally against it. We went to just "look" at them & that was all it took. Now, I'm convinced that he loves the dog more than me (ha-ha).
We finally settled on a name. (I think!) We've changed it a few times, but officially it is now Trudie. Her full name is Gertrude, my girlfriend calls her Gertie. Poor baby, she's already got an identity complex.
I have more pics but they are on the camera that my boyfriend took to work with him tonight. I'll post them later.
Luckily she is really settling in. The only potty accidents she has had were because my boyfriend wasn't properly watching her. She gets along so well with our cattledog, Josie. The girls run around the house like wild indians.
I keep pinching myself about all of this. I never thought we would be able to get a bulldog puppy at this point in our lives. She is absolutely a dream come true for me! I have literally spent this entire week at home with her--since I only work 3 graveyards a week I have the luxury of being home with her whenever I want.
If I could only keep her this small . . . she has already gained 2 pounds this week with us!
Thanks for all the goodwishes . . . I love how everyone on here understands my obsession with four legged babies!
