I want to make a cake for my 6 year olds ballet recital. I've looked around for cake ideas and can't find any. Does anyone have or have seen any cute ideas?

I would suggest doing a Frozen Butter Cream transfer, it's really simple and give you lots of freedom to choose what you want on your cake. You can look up FBCT here on cake central for exact directions. This would allow you to choose a great Balerina picture and then be able to decorate the rest of the cake very "grily" with whatever else your daughter likes.

Hope this helps and good luck!!

Maybe mold pink ballet slippers out of fondant with white fondant bows.

Taking advantage of your generosity in posting the directions for the ballet slippers cake , I tried printing the page, but the letters are not very clear.Could you, please, give the site or URL where you downloaded it?

TIA

I was able to enlarge the directions for the slippers but they weren't very descriptive. Any idea how to make these?

Well after all those beautiful cake mine really pales in comparison but hopefully it will spark some ideas. It was a color flow set of shoes but could do fondant or pink candy melts.

you know, in case you're interested.........the dollar stores carry a ton of the little porcelain (ceramic probably lol) ballet slippers in the section with all the figurines......maybe you could just pick up some of those and slap them on a pretty cake..........or what about doing a barbie doll cake and instead of making the mound her dress......make it like a grassy hill or something and make fondant legs coming down the front with ballet slippers on them or something.........little girls love the doll cakes!

Hi, sorry I'm just replying. I found the cake at www.dextersbakeshop.com. It didn't include instructions. The pic on the site is clearer but it is not very large. It almost looks like fondant stripes. Good luck!!!!
