making a bow. i have made one ot two before, but i could definatly use some improvement... i cut the stips and used a broom handle to dry them...looked great, however when i try to assemble it, i'm not sure how to go about it. you can see where i used royal icing to glue it together and it does not look " full". anyone have a link they know of so i can see step- by-step on how to assemble one???
Instead of royal icing I use a ball of fondant saturated with water (the consistancy of thick peanut butter) to stick the loops into. It's the same color as the loops and doesn't show at all. Once it's dry I can pick the whole thing up and place it on the cake. There's one in my photos if you want to take a look. I lay my loops on their sides to dry instead of over a pole so they don't streach. HTH
also on her shoe cake Boonenati shows how to dao a bow.

The one in my photos that I did with the ball of fondant is like a christmas bow for packages
