But since that is not what is posted, I'll just give you a "bump"

I think forming out of rice krispies is a great idea.
I've never made anything out of rice krispies so I guess it would depend on the size. I'd say if the complete crab plus the legs measured 7" maybe add $8-$10 to the price of the cake. I hope that helps.
I'm not sure if you watch Ace of Cakes, but there was an episode a few weeks ago where he made that Gumball Machine cake as a collaboration with Leslie from Fancy Cakes by Leslie. So of course I checked out her website, especially b/c I lived in that area for a while.
She made an amazing cake that was a bucket of crabs! Maryland's famous for them!! Check it out here:

Perhaps you could call her store and explain that you're a cake decorator as well and you were wondering how she made hers?
If you go with the rice krispies cover them with candy melts so you get a smooth finish then cover with fondant. Otherwise they are bumpy and it shows thru the fondant. I would charge at least $20-25 because of the amount of time and work involved.
mmmm.... I love blue crabs!
One of my bushel of crabs cakes in my pictures has crabs made from fondant using a chocolate mold - for the other bushel of crabs cake I used a cookie cutter and fondant. You can look in my gallery for them. I'm assuming you just need one for the top of the cake and not a crab cake?

I'm sorry I didn't give more detail about what's been requested. She sent a pic of a square cake with a 3D goose on it asking "can you do this except with a crab?" (it's family) At this point they are wondering if I would do something like that.
My next ? is: I'm assuming I would form the crab when the krispies are still warm, so I'll have to work fast. dodibug suggested covering with candy melts before the fondant. Is there another step I should know about b4 putting the fondant over it? Also, do you suggest I paint the fondant to get the colors? If so, do I just use my Americolors? do I water them down or add something else to them? (ok, we could turn this into a tutorial at this point, couldn't we???)
Theres a lady that does cupcakes..Claire Crespo I think her name is. She did a crab cupcake. Its the top of the cupcake cut off of the bottom and frosted red (you could do blue) she then took Licrice strings and used those for the center legs (they now have blue twizzlers pull and peels.) And swedish fish for the front and back claws. the fron ones she cut out a triangle to look like a claw. Dont know if they make blue ones so you might have to find something else. They are so cute. If you go to her website they have her cupcake book cover on the front page with the crab cupcake on it you can get a visual.

Maybe you could try something like this on the top.

You do have to let the krispies cool just a bit becasue if they are too warm they won't stay together. I also used the candy melts as "mortar" to keep certain pieces together since they just wouldn't stick while I was making the gold tooth but since your piece will sit more flat you may not have to do that. I think I read somewhere that some people eliminate the butter from the rk recipe to make them more firm.
I would put a thin layer of bc or piping gel over the melts to get the fondant to stick better! Sorry I didn't put that in last time!
