I am wanting to make some molds (like beer bottles) and I read through other posts but didn't see this particular thing answered. I bought some regular ol' silicone from the hardware store and was going to use that. If when it's done...and cured...wouldn't it be ok to use for this? Or...should people not put the end product in their mouths...and if not, is it still okay for it to sit in the cake? I know there is food grade silicone...but it still listed hazardous materials too. So...that why I ask if silicone is silicone, food grade or not food grade? icon_smile.gif Thanks for any help!! dunce.gif

If it isn't marked 'food grade' it can be used for decoration only and the items would NOT be considered safe to eat.

Thank you for that info...but can you tell me if it's ok for it to sit "in" the cake? I'm guessing that the beer bottles sit down in the "bucket"...is this okay? I can't imagine that anything would "leak" out into the cake...do you know?
