Has anyone used/tried this stuff? I'm dying to order some but would like to know if anyone has an opinion on it before I do.

Thanks a bunch!

No, I haven't but would be interested also. Especially as I saw that news item last about lead in lipstick!

Yes I have it and love it. I really wanted to try it but didn't want to spend the money on it just incase I didn't like it. To my surprise my sister in-law bought me the starter kit this last christmas and I love it. Just to give you an Idea I am one of those people that gets up every morning takes a shower and dose her hair and makeup weather I am going to work, going to the store or just staying home. I haven't had a single day sence I gave birth to my daughter almost nineteen years ago that I haven't warn makeup.
Hope this helps
Jackie

I have it and love it, too. And I'm the kind of person who really only wears makeup because otherwise I look just too pale and washed-out. Bare Minerals is really quick & easy. But be aware that it's very sheer coverage, which I love, but may not be for everyone. I really recommend the starter kit.

I just ordered it for my 21 year old daughter. It was her birthday present. She has been wanting to find a makeup that will get rid of the circles under her eyes and the veins on her face. She is very fair skinned and has almost translucent skin. I have been telling her how lucky she is to have such fair skin but she doesn't like the veins. I will let you know how she likes it.

Thank you all for your replies! I bought some sample size things on ebay to try out the colors. Also, for those that are intersted, I found a thing that says Bare Escentuals will have a spot on QVC on June 27th at 4pm EST. I really love the demos on that station. You learn so much more about application & color combos.

Happy Friday to all!

My daughter just bought the starter kit. We went to a store and she had the sales lady apply the make up and tell her all about it. It really looked good and my daughter loves it. I know now what she will be asking for for her Birthday and Christmas gifts. thumbs_up.gif

I use it and love it. I was a true Clinique fan for about 10 years before I made the switch. I had to use some of the old Clinique because I ran out of B.E. and it felt so gross on my face. I don't think I can go back to liquid makeup again. I did see some B.E.-ish makeup at the drugstore a couple of days ago. It was Maybelline or Cover Girl and it said it was mineral makeup. I wonder if it's any good. Probably less expensive, so it might be an alternative for those who don't want to spend the $$$ on B.E.

I love it. Just got some more of it when the new Sephora opened here in Kansas. I really like the way it says and make me feel like I am wearing nothing when really I have my face covered. It does cost alot but for 25 bucks it lasts quite a long time. I don't think I will use anything else for a very long time. Something really space age will have to come out.

I have not tried the bare minerals to compare but I just got the drugstore version and I like it a lot. It's called mineral sheers by Neutrogena. The only thing I don't like about it is that the make-up is in the brush (hard to explain) and it's hard to use.

Thank you all for your replies. YouTakeTheCake~ I'm the same way with doing my hair & make-up whether I'm going out or just staying home. It's one of those things I do just for me. thumbs_up.gif

Okay, I used to be a very loyal MaryKay (MK) user. Well, I ordered the Bare Escentuals foundation & mineral veil thinking I would try those & see how I like them before I purchase all the cheek, eye & other colors. Well..I am in love! This stuff is GREAT! My face looks so perfectly flawless & smooth. AND it stays on all day! My MK stuff needed retouching after 6 hours or it looked like I had no make-up on. What's really funny is that I'm still using my MK eyeshadow & blush & it feels so heavy on my face. I will never go back to MK foundation & I'm planning on ditching all the rest of the color stuff as soon as my new bare minerals colors come in the mail. Yippee! I'm so excited! I should mention too that I have a very oily T zone. This stuff keeps my face shine free all day. Wahoo! icon_lol.gif

Just thought I'd share.

I have it and swear on it. I've used nothing else on my face for about 3 years now.

One thing--it does take a little "getting used to!"

It's very easy to put TOO MUCH on when you first try it...but then, you'll learn really quickly how much to swirl on.

It's great because, if you're like me--you never know where your day is going to take you, and the staying power of this makeup is WOW!

Plus--you don't get that meltey, sweaty feeling when it's humid with this stuff. Just feels like your face.

Also--I use the lightest shade they've got, because I'm fair skinned. And the MINERAL VEIL--I won't live without that!

Glad to know that there are others like myself who likes to "fuss" with themselves. It's called metamorphases(sp) making a catepillar into a butterfly. Trouble with my skin is I have some brown spots, freckles etc. The Arden cream is great for that. Does Bare ecsentuals cover all those things? Thanx.

Yep!

Covers anything--just a tip--if you have a spot that's difficult, just wet the spot a little before brushing on the dry makeup there. Makes it stick a little better...

I bought the BM product called bisque and it covers pretty well. My m-i-l swears by the bisque because she has alot of redness in her face that she covers up with it. I just started using BM and love it too.

Where did you get your starter kits? I finding one for $60 + shipping and handling which seems like a lot for a 1/4 tsp of make-up especially if you need this other stuff to wear over or under it. I'm in MD so there's no BE or Sephoria here.

Thanks
Deb

I got my starter kit on the bare minerals website. bareminerals.com The set comes with two foundation colors, brushes, mineral veil, warmth, some other things. There are several kits to choose from on there. I chose the basic one.

I love it. It doesn't take much to get nice coverage. A little goes a long way. The warmth is like blush and you only use a teeny, tiny bit so I'll probably have it forever. It only takes a couple of minutes to get my make-up on which is nice too. The only thing is they make you sign up for auto ship when you order but I canceled it with no problems.

Also, QVC sells the Bare Minerals stuff. They have a pretty large selection and some of the stuff comes with brushes so you don't need to purchase them seperately. OH! And you don't have to sign up for auto-delivery.
