Has anyone tried the Choco-pan cake toppings? I just received a sample taste pack with 4 flavors - white chocolate, coffee, carmel and chocolate - and they certainly taste better than Wilton fondant! Before I order, how do they compare to the other pre-made fondants out there?

I use Cal-Java, which is also a chocolate clay product, rather than a true fondant. It tastes very good, but it is much softer and can be difficult to work with especially in warm weather. You should watch the Food Network Cake challenge where Colette Peters's team was using the Choco-Pan. Then you'll get an idea of what I mean.

I felt so bad for her having to use that lady's fondant. It seem so difficult, especially with the heat of those lights.

I use chocopan often for accents, but have never tried to cover a cake with it! I'm sure it would work, however, it is very soft....much softer than regular fondant. I saw the FoodNetwork Challenge where they had all the trouble....I can't imagine how soft it was w/ all those lights around!
