I cant believe it. I worked for hours and hours on my first chocolate transferr. I didnt have any tools so I had to use plastic baggies with pin holes in them. She broke 3 times and had to be redone each time. Finally at 2am I got her finished and she looked great. icon_biggrin.gif
Fastforward to today. It was hot in my house. (around 80) When my friend came to pick up the cake it was probably 90 degreese outside. Not 10 min after she left I got a call that she was bending in the middle. icon_cry.gif Even with the AC running. I got a call later tonight stating that by the time she got there her head had fallen off!!!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif
Looking back on it I would have kept her in the fridge till my friend got here not at room temp. Oh well live and learn.

Ouch! That sucks! One of the downsides of chocolate...

That's too bad ~ she looked great. . .

How thick was she? I always use an extra layer of chocolate over the entire back of the transfer to give it more strength. Maybe that would help next time?

I made her pretty thick. I just wish the b-day boy had been able to see it. I think I added too much crisco to the candy melts and made them to thin. oh well. Ill do better next time.

That's too bad. I don't add anything to my chocolate melts when I make a CT. Maybe that made it too soft?

I'm sorry that happened to you. I was so angry a few months ago when I was wrapping my wires on some gumpaste tulips that I made. I dropped one of them (my favorite one) and it shattered like glass all over my floor.

But....I learned never to do that again. Sometimes we learn by doing. I'm sure next time you have the chance to do something like this you'll do even better!! thumbs_up.gif

a suggestion for next time. roll out some gumpaste and trace the outline of the design...in the case the lady...make that dry fully then attach the transfer to it with more chocolate. that should keep her up next time. sorry that happened to you though. but as you said...we live and learn.
