Does any know of a good whipped icing like you can get at the bakery. I am so tired of just plain Wilton buttercream. I have several people ask for whipped icing, but don't have one. Help, please!

I'd really like a recipe for this one too. If I make just a whipped icing with heavy cream and PS and add a little gelatin to it will that stabilize it??

I've never used pastry pride...so I'm not sure. I've tried the recipe with cream cheese in it...it's yummy! I've never used the other one though. Just ran across it the other day. Sorry I can't be more help.

Here's a recipe for the stabilized whipped cream...

I've never made this one either. Usually when I make it I just add some piping gel. Never had a problem with it.

I know of no homemade recipe that successfully duplicates the whipped icing used in bakeries and mass merchandisers. icon_sad.gif

P.S. I agree with krystalp, the whipped cream (cream cheese) frosting is wonderful. But it's not as stable as Pastry Pride or Rich's Bettercreme and does require refrigeration.
