I assumed that when I had the chance, I would get a KitchenAid Mixer, but just found this:

It's a red Hamilton Beach (the first one on the page)...it's got more power than a KA, but I know nothing about Hamilton Beach.

Does anyone have this, or have any opinions on them?

I don't know much about Hamilton Beach mixers but I have one of their blenders that's about 10 years old and works great. I also assumed I'd get a kitchen aid but recently discovered that Sears has a Kenmore mixer with much more power (600 watts) than the KA that is much cheaper. It's not as good looking as the KA but I don't want it for a decoration! Its on sale now for about $159.

ohhhh....that Berkel 10 Quart mixer on that webpage is to die for! Just dreaming alittle. I have the KA with the 6qt bowl and I store it in a bottom cabinet in the kitchen. Because it's heavy I grab it by the head to help me lift it up to the counter so the tilt head would not be good for me or my back.

That Berkel mixer rocks! I think it costs more than my first car did--LOL! I've never used a Hamilton Beach mixer but I've heard it's great from some and that it doesn't last from others. I like to read the customer reviews from Amazon.com Maybe check those out before you decide...

I just found that Hamilton BEach I linked to on clearance for $99 on another site...with shipping it's only $116.

I will most likely be taking advantage of that sale!

Thanks for the advice!

All of this ended up being a moot point, as dh and the kids got me a red Kitchen Aid 5qt mixer for Mother's Day!

I even made a cake last night just to play with the mixer and I am so in love...it was amazing to be able to load and unload the dishwasher while the cake/icing mixed!

Isn't it nice to be able to put something in the mixer and be able to "walk away"? My husband thought that that was pretty cool... I love my kitchenaid too! Poor baby has been sitting on my counter lately looking neglected...I have off of work tomorrow, I will have to give it some TLC icon_lol.gif
