Hi, I'm making a cake, cupcakes and cookies for a birthday Thursday. I already started the cookies, I'll bake the cake and the cupcakes tomorrow. I was thinking of decorating the cupcakes tomorrow too, can this be done, or they won't be good till Thursday?? Has anyone tried decorating 2 days in advance?
Thanks a lot.

I've decorated two days in advance! They'll be fine! I use a 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco buttercream, so no refrigeration is required, however, if you use an IMBC or SMBC be sure to refrigerate them!

I have make cupcakes two-three days ahead with the 1/2 BC 1/2crisco - no problems here. Stored them right in the boxes for delivery

Thanks a lot for youe answers. I'll be decorating them with MMF.
I don't want to seem stupid, but what does IMBC and SMBC mean?
Thanks a lot.

My experience with MMF has been that it gets rock hard if exposed to air too long.....IMBC (Italian Meringue Buttercream), SMBC (Swiss Meringue Buttercream).
