Has anyone seen the basketweave cake on MarthaStewart.com made with an oversized leaf tip? If you want to take a look, from the home page, go to Weddings>>Cake Design>>Fruit Cakes and look at the cake entitled "Berry Basket Cake." It's really gorgeous, but the picture is from quite a distance (intentionally, I'm sure) and you can't see the detail.

Does anyone know how to do the technique?

Thanks - lkab

It is the same process as a regular basket weave. Here is a tutorial from the Wilton site. Once you get the idea of the weave, you can use many different tips for a different result.

Thanks, JoAnnB! I do know how to do the basketweave technique, but if you look at the photo (even though it's not too clear) there's something a little different...I was wondering if anyone on here had ever tried it. I'd love to know what size leaf tip was used, what the alternating tip is (round tip? serrated tip?), that kind of thing. Thanks anyway!

I have no idea how to do this, but I wish the picture was more of a close-up! Keep me posted if you find anything out!
