I am from South Africa and the terminology used are sometimes not really clear to me. For instance "corn syrup" - would that be something like "golden syryp" or more like "glucose". Our products have different names and I battle sometimes.

Corn syrup is most closely related to glucose. Infact you can find glucose dervived from corn.

I would say that corn syrup is the corn based glucose. You can also get wheat based glucose in which a lot of jelly lollies (snakes and frogs) are made from in australia. Alot of lollies in australia use wheat glucose but you can buy corn based syrup as well. Corn syrup glucose is better for celiacs.
