This morning was a late morning for me...didn't even open the door up this morning till 10:00! Anyways I found a beautifully wrapped package sitting on my steps 
(who doesn't like gifts??)
What was in it was this beautiful pewter cake stand. Now let me clarify to you how I do my cakes. I started just giving them away...now people will give me the stuff (usually or I will go shopping and buy it and they reimburse me) to make their cakes, so usually at just cost is how I do my cakes. So REALLY if it all boils down, I dont get paid for it. The tag said thank you for all the trouble I have caused by asking you to make cakes at the last minute. Now I don't know who did this because I have a couple that I make the same cake once every 2 weeks. But isn't it nice that sometimes you get a thank you like this

That was so sweet of your client, whoever it may be... I have this cake stand also, it's goregous. They make a whole line of seving ware with this same look. Plates, utensils, platters, bowls... everything I'm trying to expand my collection as I find the pieces. Enjoy the gift!!

Just wanted to share something nice...Because anymore all you hear and read is about BAD BAD BAD (just had a long talk with the kiddos about the good in life). Sometimes we just have to move on and FORGET the bad stuff for a while.

I got a very nice thank you call on my answering machine from my niece for a cake I had made for her for a shower she was having this weekend. Someone taking the time out from their busy lives to say Thank You means everything!
Isn't it the best thing to feel appreciated? Someone actually took the time to think of you and went to find a perfect gift just for you. That is sooooooo sweet. I would try to find out who this came from and send them a photo card with something beautiful you made on it. I'm so happy for you, you deserve it.

One day I was coming home from work and there was a house in our neighborhood that had an estate sale over the weekend. Sitting on top of the mailbox was a beautiful milk glass cake pedestal with a sign that said "Free". I was going to stop but another car was behind me, so I went on home.
10 minutes later, I looked down the road and it was still there so I walked back to the house and got it. Perfect condition with a large 12" top. It was my special find of the week!
