OMG! icon_surprised.gif I couldn't believe that those "men" would do such a thing, much less....that one guy brought his 5 year old son with him????????? icon_confused.gif I just couldn't believe it! I mean, what in the world was he planning on doing? Including his son? Or just let him wander in a strange house?

UGH!!!!!! icon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gif

I was in shock as well! We wonder what has happened to society, how we seem to be going down hill so rapidly, that was the answer in my book! Unfit parents, raising children with no morals or values. I only hope that mans wife gets a divorce and teaches her son better than the father was!

I just recently started watching it.

It's hard for me to watch b/c I just don't want to think of those things, but they definitely happen!

The show next week, I guess, will be about the same thing.

Atleast they're catching these guys!

The sad and scarry thing to me is that has to only be a fraction of the sick minded people out there! How do you raise your child not to be afraid of the world? I mean, you warn them about smoking, drugs, don't talk to strangers, internet preditors, where does it end? or does it?

Okay, for those of us that can't stay up that late (yeah, I'm old - I'll admit it) what was it about?

internet preditors--they set up a sting to bust men trying to met a 13 year old girl (or so they thought) at her home. One "man" thought he was meeting a 13 year old boy for an interesting afternoon so you might say and he brought his 4 year old son with him to the house!!!!

I have completely banned www.myspace.com from my home. My two older children (both boys) were members and I made them cancel their accounts. People are just sick today!

I read somewhere, I think it was Reader's Digest, that 1 in 3 girls gets molested before a certain age. My husband and I are so overly protective of our daughter. It's really scary and disturbing to know those kind of statistics.

That series of shows on Dateline has been going on for over a month. They have done about 6 or 7 shows and during the first one they caught a Rabbi, a school teacher and I forget what the others did. One of the men even undressed in the garage and went into the house completely naked. It is really scary to think about these sickos walking the streets. I don't have children but I don't think I would let them on the ocmputer unsupervised if I did and I certainly wouldn't let them have an acoount on myspace.com.

I have been watching all of them also......It is soooooo crazy that these people live all around us. They have been doing the same thing on our local news too. Very scary.

I just recently moved this past weekend and I did a search for the sexual predators in my area and there's one about a block down from us on the next street. I wish I knew that before I moved!! I have a little 5 year old daughter.

Where do you search for sexual predators at?

I searched the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. You can do a search for whatever state you live in. From there you can narrow it down to your town.

If your state police dept doesn't have a website to track offenders, there is a site called www.familywatchdog.us and you can do a search that shows where they live and work and it shows their pic. What is really disturbing is to see how many live or work near neighborhood schools. My kids aren't teens yet but we've always talked about stranger safety. This summer I discovered that they thought strangers were people that are scary looking or monster like. We wound up finding a great video that was created by the lady who invented Baby Einstein and John Walsh (America's Most Wanted) that is excellent. They love it and I think the best thing about it is they never call someone a "stranger". It teaches kids that they have safe adults, kinda know adults and don't know adults and they can only go with their safe adults. You hate to be too overprotective but the world just seems so scary these days!

I love that Dateline does these shows to catch these sickos but like someone said, it's probably a drop in the bucket compared to how many are out there. Ugh. I'm glad they started having them arrested too.

The site that Dateline works with is www.perverted-justice.com. They do a great job at catching these pedophiles.

I watched only two of these shows.... the very first one and the most recent... I had the hardest time going to sleep after each one. My parents did tell me about the freak-a-zoids that are out there but it doesn't click until you actually see it happening... icon_surprised.gif

someone said something about ages??? this gal wants to know!
