I am doing a cake for my BFF's surprise 50th birthday. She collects and loves penguins. I decided to make fondant penguins for the cake and this is what I came up with (thanks to directions on this forum). I might add that she has been very vocal about not wanting anything to do with the red hat socity (her SIL is very involved and she doesn't care for her), so I felt the need to give one of them a red hat w/purple feather! I'll post the picture of the cake next week. (Oh,, sorry the picture is blurry, and don't pay any attention to the mess in my kitchen!! I was working on a wedding cake also, you all understand!)

very cute! it reminds me of a recipe for an appetizer that I have seen that uses large black olives stuffed with a cream cheese mixture that looks like little penguins. with a little carrot wedge beak of course. =)

As for the instructions, I found them in the gallery under templates. Thanks to whoever put them there!! They were really easy to make. The only thing I did different was for the pupils on the eyes, I couldn't make a small enough ball, so I used my food marker and just put a dot.

O my, that is the cleanest "messy" kitchen I've ever laid eyes on - lol! I can't wait to see the finished product, I'll be sitting here with my eyes glued to the computer,
