OK.. we must be fans... i just sat and read through 5 pages of women who are VERY VERY excited about the color of their mixers! At least we have eachother to talk to , my family would think i was nuts!

I got the Pink one from my mom for my birthday a few years ago. Like everyone else said... i don't know how I did it before. I had wanted the navy blue one, but mom picked the pink for the Susan G. Komen foundation. I can't decide if I want a charcoal or navy blue for my next one... but I think I have some time to decide. It is one of my favorite things in my kitchen... now i have been eyeing the other kitchen items that are pink!

My DH got me the white 6 qt pro 600 and I love it. Had the artisian before but it couldn't hold the big batches and I really wanted the bowl lift. I wouldn't trade it for anything

Mine is the classic white model. I could NOT (and would not) make any decorator frosting without it! One day I'd like to own a 6 qt. but even so, it is one of my prized kitchen possessions!

My Pro 500+ is black--it's too heavy to put away so needed a color that worked in my kitchen. It looks so cool sitting there. Makes me want to get up bake a cake or something!

The best 30th Birthday gift a woman could get from friends. It was the one piece of kitchen equipment that made my husband (a chef) green with envy when he met me shortly after my 30th. He had all the kitchen toys but I had the Artisan Kitchenaid in his favorite color. It matched his Italian Tuscan themed kitchen. icon_biggrin.gif

I have the spatulas, an apron, oven mitts, kitchen towels, measuring cups & spoons and melamine bowls...all in pink! I love pink and wanted a (very tasteful) pink & black retro-styled kitchen. I would still like that...but it's a ways off.

I had no idea we were all so passionate! icon_biggrin.gif

Mine are both PISTACHIO! The most beautiful kitchen appliances in the world. They match my kitchen. I had a white Classic and my first pistachio Artisan, but my son's Spanish teacher said he'd trade out lessons for my Classic, and my husband said to give it to him. It was hard to let it go... It was my Mother's Day present a few years ago. Husband is such a sweetie, he replaced the Classic with the new pistachio Artisan for *this* Mother's Day.

My first one, a 4.5 qt., is cobalt blue. Pretty!

For some bizarre reason, less than a year later, my husband really wanted the 5 qt. Limited Edition anniverary model, which is white with a hunter green band around it. Not so pretty, but they sent us an extra bowl engraved with our names on it as a bonus, which is neat.

However, my most prized KA is my Cinnamon Red 6 qt. Wow! LOVE that baby! icon_biggrin.gif

I got my red KA(professional 5 series) from my mother as a Christmas gift two years ago. First thing I made in it was mashed potatoes that night. I used to kid to my friends that the only reason I'll get married is so I can get a KA. LOL! Glad I didn't have to keep that promise.

Does anyone have a Bosch? I hear they are actually more powerful. Right now though I'm contempt with my KA.

Mine is Hunter Green - that should tell you how old it is, LOL. It's the 5 qt bowl-lift, but I'd love a 6 qt. Hey if it aint broke... DH bought it for my birthday about 14 years ago - I couldn't live w/o it.

How do you paint them? Mine's rusting! icon_cry.gif

I have a Bosch Universal Machine and yes it is more powerful. I also have a 5qt KA artisan. I've only used my KA a few times. I don't have enough room to leave it out and it's too heavy to pull in and out of the cabinet. I have almost all the KA appliances, processor, blender and mixer, but my Bosch replaces all of them and I can leave it out on the counter and just change out the attatchments.

I bought the KA mixer because I started getting into making bread. For bread making, the Bosch kicks the KA's butt. The Bosch has better torque and doesn't get bogged down with bigger batches of bread dough. For a lot fo other things though I think I prefer the KA. It's a little more time consuming scraping down the bowl on the Bosch and the Bosch while it will do small batches, really does better with bigger batches. The Bosch has a lid that completely covers the bowl so flour and powdered sugar don't fly around.

When we remodel our kitchen next year I'll probably pull out my KA to have for cake making stuff. But, for everyday ease of use, I love the Bosch universal machine. Even though I had all the KA appliances I hardly used them because it was such a pain getting them in and out of the cabinet.

Oh, and my KA is that charcoal colored one that has a kind of pebbly texture. I love the color and feel of it!

I have a white one that I got as a wedding gift 4 years ago. (My Mom made me register for it, even though silly me thought it was a useless thing that I would never use!! icon_surprised.gif ) Now it is my favorite kitchen accessory that I can't thank my smart Mom enough for her insight.

BUT...I wish I had the charcoal textured one. I think it looks so cool. Or red. Love the vibrant look of it.
