I have to start from the beginning with this one...I get a call from my cousin last Thursday asking for 2 cakes one for on a Monday one for on a Wed. I get the dates, the type of cake..etc...and write this all down on my handy dandy notebook lol. Anyways for some reason, after I finished my Ganache cake last night, which was for someone else I decide to lay down and relax...because being a mother, maid, laundry room operator and whatever us SAHM's do all day I was very tired....Laying in bed at 9:30 the phone rings. My cousin says how are you doing ...I said fine, just got through with my ganache cake...she says bet you are all caked out arent you. I said..umm nope just had one today...she say's OH did you finish mine yesterday??? I UMMMMM....FORGOT icon_eek.gif !!!!! I said umm nope but I am getting right on it. SO dashing through the house (Tired I might add) I turn on oven to preheat, go get my trusty DH mixes and start mixing away. Everything goes ok there....But then I of course had to wait a good hour before I could decorate this puppy. Everything was level I damed and filled the cakes...still level...I put the crumb coat on..still level...I put my next coat of icing on the cake and the decorations on ...stand back to look at my work and OMG the thing is leaning so bad!!! SOOOO... (its now around 12 midnight), I have to scrap off EVERYTHING....make new icing....try to get this thing level because for the life of me I can't understand what was wrong...I know my torpedo level doesn't lie does it icon_confused.gif Got it iced...LEVEL....start to put decorations on it and notice that it is sliding...OMG not again icon_cry.gif . FINALLY got done at 4 this morning...Now we aren't talking about a king kong cake here. This is just a 6 incher, 6 inches tall!!!! icon_mad.gif But I couldn't handle seeing this thing going out the door and to potential clients looking like the leaning tower of however you spell it. It still looks like S^$& , it's in my pictures (the paw print one), but at least it is presentable (well a little anyways). It looks like the first daggone cake I have done...SO UNPROFESSIONAL...so what could of caused the leaning tower of crappy cake??? Could it of been when I was putting last layer of icing on that it just kept slidding a little bit without me noticing?

Thank you for reading my rant icon_smile.gif

I can not tell that it's lopsided. Maybe you were too tired and thought it looked lopsided. I think it looks great.

Don't be so hard on yourself. It looks great and you can't see any leaning. I'm sure they loved it icon_smile.gif

Lu asked what I was thinking.

You said you baked and only let it cool for an hour... I imagine the cake wasn't cool enough and warm your BC a little.... putting the cakes in the freezer may have helped a little to get then totally cool.

Actually it was very cool but maybe I should of let the cake set a while instead of using it right away. It was a rather warm day...but the BC I was using had no butter in it and holds up well to the humidity and heat.

I think you did a great job Christi. The cake looks very good and I'm sure it tasted yummy. Hope you treated yourself to a good rest after all that.
