What is the quick way to dry something made with royal icing.

Example: I needed a bone, so i cut a paper towel roll lined it with wax paper and filled it with royal....I did that this morning but I will need to place it on the cake tonight?

ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYS?????

Does it have to be solid? Can you let it set up for a while and then spoon out the inside so air can get into the tube.

another thought- food dehydrator

I would be suprised if a solid object that is that thick would be dry enough by tonight. sorry I hope someone has better news for you

Ok nother thought-ditch the royal for this project and use MMF

personally, I would have done the "bone" the other way areound (like you would ceramics) and leave the center hollow. I would have put the royal on the outside of the paper towel cardboard (covered with wax paper of course) I also would have ditched the royal and used fondant or gumpaste instead. Easier to sculpt.
