My plate I found at the dollar tree for my bee cake. I thought it looked kind of cool or at least different and if I don't get it back it was only a $1!!

I get plates at christmas from the dollar store to use for christmas cookies. And at a $1 they can keep it or give it back. I usually get them back so that I can "refill" the plate for them. Dollar stores are GREAT!

You know you are addicted when.......

everything you see is a cake plate..... especially if it is on sale!!!

you look at everything as a tool for cake decorating .......

Your find is the perfect bee hive plate, I am so glad I am not alone with my addiction

We just got a dollartree put close to super walmart around here...I've only been twice, but it was so crowded!!!

I think the dollartree store appearances are better kept than family/general dollar stores. I'll have to go back!

I will NEVER go back to a dollar general store (you know the one that isn't all $1.00) again. Once we were in there and my son was standing next to my hubby and he picked up a clock or something and the lady in the store yelled at him didn't tell him not to touch but yelled at him. Ok, whatever maybe she was having a bad day so I go back a different day and there was stuff all over the floor (the workers were just standing around at the register) so I picked up the front of the cart to go over candy and then the back so I didn't crush it and OUT LOUD she says "did you see her just run that over" oh boy I was MAD normally I can keep cool but I must have been in rare form cause I said "For your information I didn't run it over and if you were picking thinkg up instead of standing around we wouldn't have a problem" left my cart there walked out and never went back again. i was MAD MAD MAD!!!!!!!!! Some people should just not be allowed out near other people.......lol. I can't understand why so many people are nasty all the time I am just like what ever Hakuna Matata.........lol.

I hate it when people just stand in your way...the people that work there! The dollar store people seem to do it more than other stores..IMHO!

Ugh!

I agree with you mjones, some people shouldn't be allowed around others!

i don't get me started on family dollar and dollar general store. they are the worst store i've been in i don't know if you guys new but those two store are a franchise. in my town were i live are two(2) family dollar and 1 dollar general less then 3 miles apart and they are both nasty, dirty and just as you said everyworker are just standing around talking about their life, like everyone needs to hear about the life. i don't go to those store anymore i am a dollar tree girl. every dollar tree i have been too which are 7 of them here in VA. and in FL. they have been very clean and you do see the worker WORKING like they are sappost too. if you ask my kids what store i love to go to they will say DOLLAR TREE.. i'm their at least 3 to 4 times a week.

sorry so long

Shaddi~I live in KY and I have 2 diff. dollar stores that are literally 2 min. away from each other, lol!

If I drive 20 min. into the next county, where the dollar tree is; there are 2 dollar stores that are only 5 min. away from each other....and one of these dollar stores is right beside a dollar town! NOw that's a yucky store!

Why are they always so close?!?!?!

I'm a Dollar store person too! I find all kinds of stuff to use on/with cakes there. I know what you mean about the untidy habits of Dollar General. Some are better than others....but Dollar Tree seems consistently cleaner.

Don't fall for their Pillsbury Powdered sugar tho.......................too grainy.

I love Dollarama, that is where I get my non-skid rubbery shelf liner I use under cake boxes in the car and even in boxes so the cakes don't move. And I get my clear contact paper otherwise known as shelf liner and cover the tops of cake boards that I have covered in wrapping paper with so the surface is washable and safe. And get the little organza wedding favour bags dirt cheap. And....
Haha, I am with you kiddo! But you know, go over the border to the U.S. and hit a Dollartree store and find out just how spoiled our American buddies are, haha! I spent over $100 U.S. and filled up the van, haha! They can get all sorts of wedding decorations, things that can be used as toppers, brand name cleaning products etc.
Great stuff!

Well that would be so fun but I live about 8 hours away from the US border icon_cry.gif So have to live with only the Dollorama......

have a nice day (its raining though here)

Well Squirrelly, I'm more in the north, the place is Chibougamau. You can Google it, there's a lot of pictures. it's a great place to live, except we're far away from everything. We're a 8500 people town,(and 3 native reserves 3500 people) and the nearest other town is almost 3hours away. one good thing is I don't have a lot of competition around here icon_biggrin.gif one other lady and one bakery.

have a great day

Well I do know where Chibougamau is and a bit about the history of the town, believe it or not! And you are far north, that is for sure, but it looks like a lovely spot and like you said, hey, not too much competition! That is a good thing. I rather like isolated areas!

I love the Dollar Tree stores.

The same here, Dollar General and Family Dollar stores are dirty and junky. Why oh why do they have to have all those boxes in the aisles? icon_cry.gif

Uuh, to give the screaming kids with the buggies (grocery carts) something else to bang into other than the back of your heels? Wouldn't want them getting bored and bothering their parents would we? icon_wink.giftapedshut.gif
