If you had to cover odd shapes with fondant, would you rather use MMF or Satin Ice(or other brand of fondant)? I need to cover the 3D ball cake with fondant. I did a practice run on a plastic wrapped soccer ball yesterday with lefover MMF and it didn't go too well, LOL. Also, if you have any advice at all on covering ball with fondant...

Thanks!

Both kinds of fondant are fine for a ball, but it is tricky to shape it. For a soccer ball, you can make one or more seams to patch the pieces and hide the seams with black lines.

For another kind of ball, you can add a line of decoration to hide a seam or two. Either way, it is still a pain.

Thanks so much Jo ann! So basically there's going to be seams and you have to figure out where to put them. My ball is going to be a baby's head so it kind of needs to be perfect, LOL. Why do I always have to pick the hardest things to do??
