Straight sided, perfectly round cupcakes? I have seen photos of cupcakes like that but my muffin pans have slanted sides. Anyone know where to buy one? Should I be using a different kind of pan? Or are they baked in special cups? Am I making sense?

Are the ones you have seen in muffin papers? Or are they the ones that are completely covered in icing? For those ones I would just cut rounds out of a sheet of cake.

Here are some baking cups...where do you find these? I don't like them as well as the liners but they look to have straighter sides. I would rather find out how to get the straight sides with liners. These look stiff and thick to me.

Strazle ~
Contact ''adonai2me'' from the first link you posted. She's the one who did the cupcakes and would most likely share the needed info.
Good Luck!!!

Those are not baking cups. They are paper souffle cups. I get mine at the local restaurant supply store.

The first link leads to a pic with the straight sided cupcakes in liners. The 2nd link shows the ''souffle cups''???? I don't know but it's the first link pic is what I use for cupcake liners.

All you do is snip the top edge of the souffle cup about 1/4 inch at one place. When the cupcake is done and cooled, you fold the corners back so people can see where to pull at it.

These are also sold as "nut cups" 3.25 oz. serving size...spray with non-stick spray first and snip the edge with scissors before serving.

Well, I e-mailed the poster of the cupcakes and she says her pans are flared but she only filled the cups 1/2 way. She says usually she fills 2/3 and they are flared but on this particular day she only did 1/2. Guess I could give that a try. Thanks for all your input. This site is great!

I'm going to have to look for these! I love the look of perfectly straight-sided cupcakes also! Great thread!
