to get blood red buttercream. I have added 1/3 of a large pot of wilton's no taste red to maybe 1 cup of icing and I can't get more than a deep pink!

I hate Wilton colors, they suck. Try adding just a drop (like a toothpick prick) of black.....I used half a pot of red to make a good red, not even close to what I wanted.

Americolor is the only way to go in my opinion. Americolors Super Red and Super Black will solve your red and black coloring problems. You can order it right here on Cake Central.

It will get darker the longer it sits. I usually let it sit overnight and it is very red the next day.

It will also get darker when it dries on the cake.

when I make red with the wilton colours I start with a very deep pink base (I use rose pink), I let it sit over night then and the no taste red to it and again let it sit for a while. This never fails for me.
