Good Afternoon,
I just joined the forum and I can't wait to get to know some of the members. I am a married mom of two and I live in Maryland.
My daughter just got engaged this week so I will be helping plan a wedding in the coming year. I have done cake decorating for over 20 years, although in the last 10 it has only been for family members getting married or special occasions.
I will post some pictures of the last cake that I did as soon as I figure out how to reduce the size of them.
I have a question for anyone in Maryland. I would love to take a class in rolled fondant and was wondering if anyone was from Maryland and knew of a place where I could it?
Linda
Hi Linda,
Welcome to cake central! I am also a married mom of two, and although I don't live in Maryland, I'm sure someone here can answer your question. All questions are answerable (is that a word?) by the people here. These are definitely the best and brightest, most creative people around. You will love it here!

welcome welcome welcome! I'm also a 20+ year decorator and you will be amazed on how much you will learn from this site! The list of things I've learned in less than a year is incredible!!! And yes, it is VERY addicting! If you ever go thru an insomnia session, you'll probably find me on here at 1 or 2 in the morning! ![]()
Thank you all for such a warm welcome and I am so excited that I found this site. I hope to talk to you all soon!
Linda
Welcome to cake central Linda!! I have a gal from CC staying with me this weekend for the ICES classes and she IS from Maryland!! I'll be sure to ask her. I was thinking, if you don't find a class on rolled fondant, there are many fabulous videos out there on it as well -- it's something to consider! Glad to have you aboard!! ![]()
Welcom, you will love it here.
You should see how fast I get off the computer when I hear the garage door open. I don't want my husband know that I spend so much time here.
You should see how fast I've learned to clean house so I have more time for CC.
I'm from Michigan and want to welcome you to this wonderful addictive world known as CakeCentral! You will absolutely love it here.
If you can't find a class about fondant, I bet you can learn even more but just reading the posts here on CC and trying it yourself. This is seriously the best resource for cake/cookie decorating EVER!
Hi and Welcome, Linda. ![]()

Linda, Hello and welcome to CC! I am in Texas so can't help you with Maryland but I am going on vacation to your state, New York City, Philly, and Delaware this summer. Can't wait to see it all........I hear Maryland and that entire region is very beautiful.
If you will go to www.wilton.com you can do a search to find Fondant & Gumpaste classes in your area.
Welcome, I'm in Louisiana. The other are right, this place is addicting. My husband says my behind is glued in the computer chair. There is so much info here and everyone is so helpful.
See you around,
Susan
Linda,
Good Afternoon,
I just joined the forum and I can't wait to get to know some of the members.
I will post some pictures of the last cake that I did as soon as I figure out how to reduce the size of them.
Welcome to your new addiction..
I am in MN, so cant help with the classes, but I can help guide you to make you pictures smaller.
1. If you can open them in "MS Paint" or copy them into it using your print screen.
2. Then use the square select option and copy and paste into a new Paint doc.
3. Then using the IMAGE menu you select the ATTRIBUTES and select the Pixel Type, you need to make sure your picture is smaller than 800 pixels both ways. If it is, you are good to upload, if not see step 4.
4. Click ok and then select the picture again and try to shrink it a bit using the double arrows in the corner.
5. Once you think you have shrunk it enough, check the pixels again.
6. If you have a lot of white space around your picture, you can lower the pixel count (while in step 3) and you can change the pixel size I usually take off, 20 pixels the first try and then go from there. If you make a mistake, just click undo in the edit menu.
7. Once you have the pic at about 799 both ways. You just need to save it as as a JPEG format. And then start to upload lots of pics.
