Hi decorators, my son will be turning 16 this year and I am planning ahead for a birthday cake for him, question is sweet 16 sounds like something for a girl, does anyone have any ideas or photos to share, thanks irisinbloom
Irisinbloom....
It's hard making cakes for our sons! My son will turn 18 on May 12th. My kids always put there order in every year. Even before I was decorating they'd do that. They hate store bought cakes so I always make homemade cakes. My son just put his order in yesterday LOL he said he wants a chocolate cake (recipe from the Hershey's cocoa powder box.. that's his favorite cake) with cookies n cream icecream with chocolate icing. So I'm going to do just that. That's what he wants that's what he gets. He's a bullrider so I will probably put a FBCT of a bull or something like that on it too. I'm planning on throwing him a surprise bday party! That's another reason I like it when the kids order what they want... I wouldn't want to embarse them. Ohhh... but that is an idea!! Just joking!
Sorry I got carried away with my post that I forgot your post. I would just ask your son what he wants. I'm sure he'll say a car on it or just ice it & put happy 16th on it.
Thanks for all the replys, he likes skate boarding. I'm not very creative so I guess I will take your gals advice and just ask him, thanks
Thats a great idea for her... maybe pretzel rods to hold the donut wheels on. Here is the instuctions for a skateboard cake... http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/cake/cake_skateboard/
