Hi there
Can someone please share a good crusting buttercream recipe that wrks great with this 'viva' paper towel trick I've read so much about? Am very keen to give this a go

click on this and it should take you to the recipe.....if for some reason it doesn't work.....you can find it under the recipes at the top of the page.... hope this helps..... Donna
I will be making a cake next week to look like a cordoury fishing hat (no one wants fondant, which would be alot easier). Instead of making the icing smooth, I want to replicate the material on the hat.......any suggestions?

Right off the top of my head i think of a impression mat that I saw on cakes by sam.com. It's a line impression mat, makes perfect ridges....maybe that would work??
Thanks, why didn't I think of impression mats! Too bad I could not use real cordoury pieces instead of the viva towels......wonder if I spritz them with water, if they would not stick to the icing.......

Oh, wow, yeah!!! Do you think it would work to lay either a sheet of waxed paper or plastic wrap down first and then press in the fabric???
