I'm doing a birthday cake for a friend soon, and I need a cake recipe that will stand up to fondant and all that...so yeah, whats your best recipe that you're willing to share?

heheee, I wanted to do a pink lemonade cake with strawberry cream filling...anyone think that would work if it was covered in fondant and such?

As long as the cake is a 'normal' two layers, torted and filled, most recipes will be fine for fondant. Angelfood is too soft, of course, but most everything else is fine.

If you are sculpting or doing a "funny" shape, you should opt for sponge or madeira cake recipes because they won't fall apart.

I use wasc. You can use what ever flavor cake mix you want. I add 1 box of pudding mix for each box of cake mix. The recipe can be cut in half real easy. It is in the recipes here on cc.
I would like that pink lemonade recipe. That sounds yummy for my tummy please.
