What do yall use to attach the spout on a teapot cake? Isn't it very heavy? What keeps it from pulling out of the cake?

Nope, not locked.

I had a similar problem, but I reshaped the spout to begin at the base of the tea pot and used a skewer to stick it into the cake.

I am sure others will have ideas.

when I made my tea pot I used wooden 2 skewer cut shorter put in the spot at the point where it would go into the pot. I let the fondant dry before I put it on the pot and I had no trouble. It stayed great I put icing around where it was attached to the pot.

I make the teapot cakes quite a bit, and I have no problems with attaching them and them staying put - I use toothpicks in mine, two in the handle (one at each end of it) and 2 in the thickest part of the spout. I think most folks have trouble because they make the handles and spouts wayyy to big. Made to scale with the teapot, they stay put just fine with the 4 toothpicks. (you can see an example of one of mine in my photos)

I let my fondant dry and then used toothpicks and they worked out just fine. icon_smile.gif
