I have never really worked with fondant, but would like to make roses like LacieLou76 did here -

Can someone please tell me how?

Thank you.

You basically roll out fondant and cut it into strips.Fold the strips over like a piece of paper and then you roll it up to look like a rose.It takes practice though..I tried it and it takes a bit to get the rose looking good but can be done.

Great, thanks. That explains how they are rounded on the outside!

I got these directions from a Collette Peters book. HTH

To make a ribbon rose, roll out a strip of gumpaste (or fondant) about 1/16 inch thick, about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long. Fold the strip lengthwise in half but do not crease the fold. Hold the end in your hand and start rolling the strip, with the folded side facing up. After one and a half turns, pinch the bottom of the strip, then continue rolling and pinching until the flower is the size you want. Break of the excess at the bottom and let dry upright in bumpy foam.

I have tried these but mine looked funny until I saw someone demonstrate, I think on Sugar Rush, cuting the extra off to make them set flat.
