I just received a request for a Barbie cake using the Wilton Wondermold (w/ doll pick). I've never made one before....what would you say is the going rate for one?

I just saw one at the grocery store last night for 28.99 and it was no beauty by any means!

I think it would depend on how elaborate her dress is & it would also depend on if you were going to use a Barbie pick or a real Barbie. With a Barbie pick & having a 'not no elaborate' dress, I would probably charge about $35. If I used a real Barbie I would charge for that & I would also charge more if I did a more difficult design.

CAMBO, years ago before I was making cakes my sister ordered a barbie cake for her daughter, instead of the wondermold the girl used one of those pampered chef glass bowls to give the skirt more fullness. It was a cute cake and 4 years ago she paid $35 for it. I would say in the ball park of $35-$40 knowing your area and your ability to make a stunning cake! Good luck, can't wait to see it

Thank you everyone! I think I'll quote her $35 to start...for something simple....and go from there!
